Opportunity is knocking, who do you know needs a job? Please share this information, you never know who is standing in the need of a blessing!
City of Milwaukee Entry- Level Job Fair
Our Department of Employee Relations staff have been working relentlessly, in order to better serve our city’s entry level job seekers and help them obtain gainful employment. I’m happy to announce that on January 23rd, from noon until 4pm, the City of Milwaukee will be hosting an Entry Level Job Fair, here in the City Hall rotunda, located at 200 East Wells Street. This job fair will offer candidates the opportunity to apply for positions with the City in the Department of Public Works (DPW), as City Laborers, Bridge Operators and Urban Forestry Arborist Apprentices’. There will be DER staff onsite to assist fair goers with online applications here in the City Hall computer lab, as well as staff from our benefits division, who will be onsite to explain how our benefits package works. There will also be test taking training sessions conducted, in order to give job seekers a better idea of what to expect throughout the hiring process with the City of Milwaukee. In addition, there will be community agencies in attendance (UMOS, Milwaukee Urban League, Northcott Neighborhood House, Silver Spring Neighborhood Center, WRTP/Big Step and Compete Milwaukee) offering their services to fair goers, including driver license recovery, CDL permit training, and financial literacy, all in an effort to help remove barriers to employment! Attached is a brochure that explains what will be taking place during the job fair; I humbly ask that you PLEASE DISTRIBUTE this brochure throughout your network. With your cooperation and participation, I’m sure this event will be a tremendous success! If you have any questions or concerns about this event, please feel free to contact Flowers Nash II or Sonia Maldanado at 414-286-4862. Thank you for your time, and have a phenomenal day!
